Guided Walks and Hikes in Manchester Valley and Southern Vermont

Testimonials for Pam and Walkalong

Missy TestimonialPam is the best hiking guide/buddy you could ask for. She is incredibly friendly, an attentive listener, and an excellent conversationist. The trail she took us on was just the exact difficulty I was hoping for. She was patient whenever I needed to pause and checked on me when we got to steep inclines. And the view was as beautiful as she promised!

Gina & Debbie TestimonialIf you are looking for a great guided hike, book with Pam! Pam went out of her way to make our experience wonderful. She spent the time to fully understand our level of experience, what we were interested in seeing, and what we needed to bring in order to be comfortable. She made the hike challenging, but within our comfort zone. Her knowledge of the history of the mountains and area made our day so much more interesting. And she’s just a really nice person to spend time with!

Alejandro TestimonialIt was an amazing walk!! thank you very much, Pam, I hope to go back soon and hike with you again.

Sue & Tony TestimonialThis was the best hiking trip we’ve had in Vermont. You were wonderful, enthusiastic and knew the country side very well. The hikes were glorious and we loved the rock covered moss and pines as we climbed up the mountains. It seemed like the land of “Lord of the Ring.” We would never have found these trails on our own. We look forward to coming back. Thank you again for a wonderful time.

Ben TestimonialThank you very much for the amazing hike! You are a great guide and my wife, myself AND our two dogs are thankful for the adventure. You definitely made our trip to Vermont. We look forward to seeing you in the Fall.

DSC_0560We discovered Pam by chance and are so pleased we did. We did around a 3 hour walk which she suggested and guided us on – she was completely flexible on duration and matched our capability to the walk selected really well. The walk took us to stunning views of Vermont and I don’t think we would have found this without the local knowledge. Pam is an entertaining and highly knowledgeable guide, giving us lots of other ideas of things to do whilst in the area. Our teenage daughter voted this the best day of our holiday. We would thoroughly recommend “walkalongvt” and wish we’d known about Pam before we came as we would have done more walking with her.

While waiting for our sons who were hiking part of the Appalachian Trail, my husband and I took a hike with Pam. Even though we’d been hiking in the area quite a bit, Pam found a new hike for us in a mountain range we were unfamiliar with. Lots of interesting limestone, a cave and some tough boulder scrambling to an amazing view of the Manchester Valley. We never would have found it – or attempted it – without an experienced guide to lead us on. Thanks for sharing this special place!

My most memorable hikes have been with Pam. We’ve hiked together for many years and its easy to say I always have a fantastic time. Energetic and well organized, she plans great walks filled with natural beauty and fun. Forever a smile on her face, I’m always looking forward to our next hike!!

A feast for the eyes, body & soul – my kudos & thanks

Pam was an amazing guide. Her vibrant personality coupled with her deep knowledge of the trails, plants, animals and geology enhanced an already wonderful experience. The afternoon offered the perfect blend of exercise and scenery, from the idyllic waterfalls to the amazing views. I would highly recommend Pam as a guide and am looking forward to my next visit. Happy trails!

Walk along with this incredible guide is one experience you do not want to miss – it is not just the physical but the spiritual uplift as well!

Always an amazing experience to be guided by someone who truly embodies the spirit and wonder of what Vermont has to offer…and beyond!!! Pam embodies a wealth of knowledge in respect to what the area has to offer absolutely every level of hiker, from the casual river and field trails, to climbs that will push ones limits to the very edge and maybe a little over if you dare!! The final destination has always far, far exceeded my expectations!! You can be assured of a perfect balance between beautiful scenery, remarkable views, and great company.

For those with a love of nature, there is nothing more stimulating and satisfying than actually getting “into” nature. Over a few years I’ve been on several short “expeditions” with Pam, from short loops through ancient woodlands to wintery treks to mountain tops. No matter the season or terrain, her great enthusiasum for the outdoors and all it encompasses is always forefront.

As a lifelong outdoor person, I’ve always felt myself to be in tune with my surroundings………. until my first walks with Pam! Whether it be watching for spotted salamanders in the Autumn leaves, noting the proximity of deer and coyote tracks in the snow, adding a stone or two to a trailside cairn or finding the first wildflower of spring at a mountain treeline, her awareness and recognition of the the flora and fauna around her and her concern for the trail environment are truly exemplary.

Pam lives by the age-old woodsmans creed of “leave the trail a little better than you found it”, and always leaves me looking forward to the next adventure.

During the summer of 2011, I spent some time in Vermont working. It was during that time I became friends with Pam. I was going through some hard times, and she convinced me to try hiking. She took me on some unbelievable trails with spectacular sights. It was a summer I will never forget. Would I recommend her as a guide?? Definitely!!!!
